In honor of Valentine's Day tomorrow, this week's topic is "love." Therefore, I have decided to share some of my favorite romance authors with you all! Click the author's name to get to Goodreads.
Synopsis: He saved me… And then he blood-bonded me. Now I’m his.
My first meeting with a Chicago vampire went better than expected.
Up until that night, all I knew about vampires was limited to a few common facts: they drink blood, they get a mean sunburn and if you find yourself alone with one, you’re dead.
Except he didn’t kill me.
Sexy, broody Warin clearly had his own reasons for sparing my life and tying me with his blood, but if he’d known how much trouble I’d attract, I bet he wouldn’t have bothered. When he blood-bonded me, secrets even I didn’t know about myself came to light.
Secrets that will pull us both deep into the eternal war between vampires and the witches determined to rid the world of their evil.
We have only one choice now: fight the forces hell-bent on breaking our bond…
Or die.
Wicked Soul in Three Words: Steamy. Funny. Enjoyable. What I Liked
How the vampire mythology was handled. It reminded me of a mix of all my favorite vampire novels in one!
The humor was fantastic. I actually laughed out loud quite a few times. The main character Liv is awkward and hilarious. She reminded me a lot of myself.
The attraction between Liv and Warin was hot! They were also pretty cute when they were just hanging out.
Thanks to some great action scenes along with perfect pacing of the story, I was never bored.
The cast of secondary characters including a giant body guard, Warin's brother, and various witches were very interesting.
What I Didn't Like
At times, Warin was just a tad bit too alpha male for my taste.
A couple of the sexy scenes were a little out of my comfort zone.
Although easy to relate to and hilarious, Liv also sometimes made really cringe worthy decisions that made it hard to like her.
The Bottom Line: A good fit for vampire romance fans! It was a very entertaining read.
Nora Ash writes the sort of books that have your toes curling and your blood pulsing. Her stories are often dark and always thrilling, with lots of sexy bad boys and the women who spur their desires. When not typing away at a story, Nora paints, eats chocolate or go for hikes around the English countryside with her very own bad boy.
I was one of those people that didn't really believe in New Year's resolutions, but this year I decided to shake things up. This year I am trying to live a more healthier lifestyle. I gained some weight over the last year or so because I stopped making time to exercise and eat healthy. This may have had something to do with starting grad school while working two jobs and getting a puppy... So far I have been drinking more water, working out four days a week (using these YouTube channels), and eating healthy(ish). I lost four pounds this first month so I must be doing something right.
Anyway, I have discovered two channels on YouTube that offer such a variety of (free!) videos that I have yet to get bored! Therefore, I thought I would share my favorites with you all. First up is JessicaSmithTV, she offers a variety of different programs (free and paid) that you can follow on her website along with hundreds of free videos on YouTube. My other favorite is Blogilates, Casey offers a free beginner calendar you can follow on her website along with an abundance of other cool stuff. I am slowly going through both of their videos to find my favorites and make my own weekly workout playlists. Without further ado, here are some of my favorite videos so far and why I like them.
So far this is my favorite exercise video that I have come across, and that's mostly because it is fun! It also doesn't hurt that Jessica's dog Peanut makes an appearance in many of her videos. She is adorable and motivating! I always feel great after doing this workout.
I worked up a sweat doing this one! I plan to do her entire HIIT for Beginners series.
Until I did this video I really didn't know how much I would benefit from getting some stretching into my weekly routine. I am not flexible at all, but I am hoping to change that. This routine felt great and is perfect to complete after a workout.
When I first heard of this arm workout that didn't involve any weights or push ups I was a little skeptical. I was wrong. My arms were burning towards the end of the video, and the next day they were very sore.
Another favorite video of Casey's that I enjoy. It's perfect for blogilate newbs. Many of her videos are challenging for me, but the more I do them the better I get!
What are some of your favorite exercise videos? Did you make any resolutions for the new year?
This post contains a whole bunch of mini reviews of books I read last year that I never got around to reviewing. I'm hoping to stay on top of my reviews this year, but with grad school and work I don't know how well that will actually go. We shall see!
This book was a whole lot of fun to read! I don't know what I would do if I found out I was actually royal. Probably freak out at the attention and all the responsibilities that would give me anxiety, but I sure wouldn't mind the money or the traveling. If you haven't given this one a try yet I suggest that you do. You will want to meet the great characters in this book, especially Prince Yummy. Prince in Disguise by Stephanie Kate Strohm Goodreads
I wasn't a big fan of this one. It had its cute moments, but it was too cheesy for me. I also had a hard time liking the main character Dylan. After one too many eye rolls and obvious plot points I can only give this one two stars. This book just wasn't for me. However, I can see many teens and reality fans enjoying this book.
I loved this book! This one is a perfect choice for historical fiction, mystery, and romance fans! Miss Lydia Whitfield is trying to be a strong woman who is taken seriously. It's too bad she gets kidnapped. I loved the carriages, the different characters, and the romance.
Written in verse and incredibly powerful, Long Way Down is a must read for teens and adults. Will's brother was murdered and he must decide if he should stick to the rules and seek revenge or try to break the cycle. This book is eye opening and heart breaking.
This. Sounds. Freaking. Awesome. I have enjoyed Morgan Matson's other books and I am really looking forward to this new one. It sounds like a disasterous wedding filled with family drama and a cute boy.
"A searing #OwnVoices coming-of-age debut in which an Indian-American Muslim teen confronts Islamophobia and a reality she can neither explain nor escape." That description sold me.
Have any of these books made it on to your TBR pile?
