Month in Review - October Edition

~ October Edition

What happened on the blog?

What went down behind the blog?

  • I finally received all of my big furniture for my house! Check out this post to see some of my favorites.
  • I painted my first room! Our living room was a dark green color and it really needed to be lightened up in there. We ended up painting it light grey. It worked perfectly and really brightened up the room. I only accidentally stepped in and sat on some paint once or twice during the whole process. I call that a win.
  • I am so very proud of my Halloween costume this year. I was the blue crayon from the children's book The Day the Crayons Quit.
  • I dog sat for my parents for a little over a week while they were on vacation in Mexico. It was fun and hectic and fun. Here are the two adorable brats.
They were not really cooperating.

    1. Thanks so much! The adults and kids at the library seemed to like my costume too. I needed something cute and fun but also easy to put together.

    1. Thanks so much! We barely had any furniture so we had a lot of fun shopping for couches and such. It was expensive, but we put money aside just for that purpose.

  7. OMG I LOVE YOUR COSTUME! I wish I was creative, but alas, I am not. And I applaud you for painting an entire room with minimal casualties. I find that anytime I do something that requires skill I need a break like 5X the amount of time it took me to complete the task haha. Like right now I am in the process of making some DIY christmas gifts and I have only just begun but I already need a mental break from effort. I will probably be completely undomesticated from like January until March as a result. ;)

    1. Thanks so much Nicole! It didn't take long to make, the kids liked it, and I thought it was cute.

I may have taken quite a few breaks...hehehe I feel like that is a fair amount of time for you to recover from all your hard DIY christmas gifts. I would even stretch it until June. You don't need any more crafty things done again until summer right? You don't want to strain yourself. I know I wouldn't.

  8. Your costume is the best! I need to come up with some storybook related costume's for the future since I'll be really dressing up for my classroom. I was Little Red Riding Hood this year. My cape was glorious!
Your new furniture looks wonderful! Of course I particularly like your bookshelves.
Your parents dog's have a beautiful coat. I would never dog sit for my parent's dogs - now they are brats!

    1. Thanks Adriana!

I always love a good cape! I love that you will be dressing up for your classroom. :D

One of the dogs was kind of a brat, but since he is so cute I dealt with him....or at least my husband did.
