Bout of Books Read-A-Thon: Sign Up, Goals, & Updates

Bout of Books is my favorite read-a-thon that I participate in every year. They have one in January, May, and August so you if you can't participate in this one think about participating in one of the others later this year. I always love completing the January read-a-thon because it is a great way to kick start my reading for the year. This time around I have decided to choose my books a little differently. I am going to solely read middle grade novels. I have so many I want to read, but they always take a back seat to the young adult books I like to read, so I figured now would be a good time to read some. They are shorter and quick reads and therefore are perfect for a read-a-thon!

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, January 4th and runs through Sunday, January 10th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 15 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

Final Thoughts

Bout of Books is still my favorite read-a-thon, but I am a little sad I wasn't able to participate in a Twitter chat this time. Those are usually so much fun! I kept forgetting when they were. I have no excuse. I ended up reading 6 middle grade books, one less than my original goal. I feel very satisified with that number. I am glad I got to read some middle grade books since I am always putting them on the back burner. Overall, this was a good read-a-thon.

  1. I am so totally doing this! It's going to be a week of Bout of Books posts. I've been reviewing everything I've read so far so I hope to continue with this challenge.
Aha! This must be your week of MG reads or was it a month?
Zero Tolerance should be good. I've only read one of your books but I didn't like it. I won't say which though.
