I adored this book. Listening to it was the best choice I could have made. The two voices of Dimple and Rishi were wonderful. Rishi really made this book entertaining, cute, and very fun! If you read this book I sincerely hope you give the audiobook a try. It was an ideal summer read. 

The Distance Between Us by Kasie West

This is my first Kasie West novel via audio and it was a really good experience. The narrator did a great job, and we all know the narrator can make or break the story. I loved doing my reread of this book in this way. The characters really came to life. 

House Rules (#7) by Chloe Neill

I don't read a lot of vampire books anymore, but I am really enjoying the Chicagoland Vampire series. I really like the romance, politics, and action scenes. I have read the last two books in this series by audio, and I am really liking the narrator.

This was my favorite audiobook of 2017 It was a delight to listen to. I don't read a lot of middle grade books, but my coworkers convinced me to give this one a try. I was not disappointed! The narrator is great, the story is cute, and the characters are interesting.

I just started listening to audiobooks last year when I got another job a decent drive away from where I live, and I can't believe I waited so long! Audiobooks are addicting, and I love them. I can listen to them while driving, cleaning, eating (it's easier to eat and listen to an audiobook than read a physical book.) Anyway, I finally sat down and put together some reviews of some of my favorites. Enjoy!

The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater

The Narration: We get dual narrators for the dual POVs and they were perfect!

The Story: This was actually a rearead for me, and I am so glad I have now experienced this book in audio format as well as print. This story shouldn't be missed by anyone. The setting is wonderful, the water horses are beautiful and scary, and it's just a great story.

Denton Little's Deathdate by Lance Rubin

The Narration: The author narrates this book! It. Is. Hilarious. The first chapter had me laughing out loud and I continued to laugh during the entire thing. Lance is excellent at all the voices.
The Story: Everyone knows they day they are going to die... I love this story idea and I loved Denton. This story will make you laugh and curious about what the heck is going on with Denton and how he will die.

Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige

The Narration: Talk about a lady who really knows how to do a variety of voices well. She sounds exactly like how I would imagine a wicked witch to sound like. Nice job Devon Sorvari!
The Story: It was funny, dark, and always entertaining. I loved the main character Amy and the supporting cast. Fans of Wizard of Oz or just retellings in general won't want to miss this one!

Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell

The Narration: Who knew this book had a lot of cursing in it? I was shocked the first time I heard it, but then I was all good. It's not like I curse myself you know... The narration was pretty darn good.
The Story: Sad yet hopeful.

The Vanishing Season by Jodi Lynn Anderson

The Narration: A little hard to follow with the different view points. I don't want to say more in case it gives away too much of the plot, but I feel like this book would be better read than listened to.
The Story: This is more of a coming of age story than a mystery, but it did have a really strong ending. Overall, I have to say that I really enjoyed it.

I Conquer My Fear of Audiobooks

This is the true story of how I went from running away screaming from audiobooks with my arms flailing about to simply adoring them.

I never understood the attraction of an audiobook. I had tried listening to a couple before and it never turned out so well so I just gave up. They just never appealed to me. But now...

Why I Used to Avoid Audiobooks Like The Plague
- I used to think they didn't really count as reading. I was young and naive. (This was a long time ago before blogging. Don't throw stones.)
- I am not good at sitting still for long periods of time.
- My attention span wanders like crazy. (This is still true, but the right book can help that problem. See below.)
- I am a visual person.
- The two whole times I tried to listen to an audiobook I couldn't focus/I got bored and gave up.

Why I Now Love Audiobooks
- I now actually have a decent size commute to work and the radio is not for me. I can only listen to the same song so many times before I go crazy.
- I listen to them while I am cleaning. Brilliant.
- Finding the right narrator and story makes all the difference. My mind rarely wanders!
- It gives me a chance to use time I couldn't read during before to do so now. (Like the cleaning I mentioned earlier.)
- I get them from the library so if I don't like them they are free anyway.

The Diviners (#1) by Libba Bray (2012)

The Narrator: January LaVoy was fantastic! She did an amazing job at all of the different character voices, male and female.
The Story: So very creepy, and it easily held my attention. Even when the MC, Evie, got on my nerves a little bit, I still enjoyed the minor characters, the 1920's setting, and the disturbing serial killer mystery. This is a perfect fall read. I highly recommend it.

The Narrator: Although I had to get used to his voice, I think Will Patton did a great job.
The Story: All of the characters are interesting in this one, and I liked each one, flaws and all. There were a lot of mysterious happenings and I certainly was never bored.

How to Train Your Dragon (#1) by Cressida Cowell

The Narrator: I love David Tennant in all things, including this audiobook. He did a fantastic job at narrating Hiccup and the dragons! If you are a fan of his you may as well go ahead and listen to this one.
The Story: How to Train Your Dragon was full of laughs and fun times. It was easy to follow along and adorably funny. I loved it.

The Narrator: Mindy Kaling narrates this herself. I just recently started watching The Mindy Project and I am a fan.
The Story: Mindy talks about an array of subjects. She touches on her time at The Office, being bullied when she was younger, fashion, guys, and anything a 20 something would want to discuss. She had me chuckling a good amount. It was an enjoyable read.
