  1. I didn't have anything to add to your Mara Dyer post, but over here I'd add the "Tomorrow When the War Began" series by Australian author John Marsden to the Hunger Games list. The books were written in the 90s and were the first real YA books I ever read. The basic storyline is that a group of friends go camping in a very secluded area for a few days only to return home to find their country has been invaded and everyone but them has been taken captive. There are 6 books total and things get pretty intense, but they are really good reads.

    1. You are totally right! I have read that series and it is really really good. I read those so long ago, I forgot about them. I don't know how. They are sitting on my bookshelf.

  2. This is the greatest idea!! I always love things like this on Goodreads where it shows you what books are similar to ones you've read. I have a hard time finding books like that. Very cool idea :) Oh, and LOVE The Maze Runner series!!!
