My Short Rant On Spoilers

I know some people don't mind spoilers. Heck, I even have a few friends that enjoy spoilers! They are weird, I know. ;)

As for me, I HATE spoilers. I will go crazy if something is spoiled for me. It can look a little something like this...

So here is my plea. This one is to all the bloggers and reviewers out there. All I ask is that you make a clear warning before you spoil something. I understand that sometimes you MUST talk to someone about something big that happened in a book or tv show as soon as you finish. We have all been there. BUT I really don't think it is too much to ask that you have a spoiler warning before a book review that contains spoiler.

As for Facebook and Twitter... I know that is a little different. Yet it only takes 7 characters to warn of a spoiler before you post/tweet. The only time I somewhat understand when someone spoils a show is when they are live tweeting. That is why I NEVER go on Twitter when one of my big shows (The Walking Dead or Game of Thrones, etc.) is on because I don't have cable and watch everything the next day and that would just be asking for trouble. Other than the live tweeting thing, I don't see why you can't put SPOILER before your Tweet or Facebook post. That way I don't actually skim/see something I rather wouldn't.

Rant over. That wasn't so bad was it? I tried to keep it as short and polite as possible.

Do you hate spoilers as much as I do? Share your pains below!

I Feel Like Gabbing Today

** I want to share with you the very random thoughts that pop into my head and chat with you about them. Many are bookish thoughts and many are not. I feel like I don't have enough discussion type posts on the blog so I am giving this a whirl. Some days I will talk about a specific topic and sometimes I will just throw some random thoughts at you. So please sit back, relax, and take a second to chat with me today.

Random Thoughts

1. I really want to get my MLS degree. I love being a part time librarian assistant so I am pretty sure I would LOVE being able to do it full time. Deadline for applying is October for Spring of 2017. I just hope I can figure out a way to afford it.

Nap time! He is 6 months old and still growing. :D
2. I love my darling puppy with ever fiber of my being, even when he is being a pain in my butt. It helps that he is just so darn cute!

3. My husband and I spent 2.5 hours last weekend on yard work. (We had a lot of weeds.) Needless to say that we were exhausted the rest of the day. The good news is that we probably just have one more day like that and then our back yard will be ready for Bash to run around in to his heart's content! (He currently keeps attacking this ridiculous bush that we are definitely going to get rid of.)

4. I need to find more time to read. I really do. My TBR pile just grows and grows. I just don't know how. Working two jobs, taking care of a puppy, and doing house stuff and errands takes up almost all of my time. I do make time to blog and read when I can find it, but I need to be better at picking and choosing what is important to me.

5. My husband and I want to actually go on a vacation this year in September for our 4 year wedding anniversary. We haven't been on a real vacation together since our honeymoon. Last year we did go to a wedding in Florida but it wasn't that relaxing and we were not there for more than a couple of days. We just need to pick an affordable place and figure out days off from work. No big deal.

6. My all time favorite television show at the moment is Peaky Blinders. If you haven't seen it then you should probably change that. The latest season just came out on Netflix.

7. I need some music recommendations. I am serious. I don't keep up with music very well and then I never know what new music I should be listening to when I sit down to work on my blog or what not. Do you have any listening suggestions? Some musicians I enjoy are Maroon 5, Imagine Dragons, Adele, & Lana Del Rey.

8. I never thought I would say this, but I kind of miss cooking. With my weird work schedule I am only usually cooking one or two meals a week and my husband does the rest. I don't mind this at all and am very thankful for my husband, but sometimes I miss it. I want to emphasis the sometimes bit.

Do you have anything going on with you that you wish to share? I want to hear it! Let's chat and comment below!

I Feel Like Gabbing Today - I'm doing my own read-a-thon!

Read-A-Thons are My Jam

I love read-a-thons! There is just something about the challenge of reading as many books as I possibly can in a given amount of time that makes me swoon. It doesn't hurt to have a group of people who love reading as much as me participating as well. I really do enjoy the camaraderie. I also love mini challenges and everything else that happens during a read-a-thon, but mostly I like to...

Bout of Books is my all time favorite read-a-thon! One whole week of reading, twitter chats, mini challenges, and even more reading?! Sign me up! I am sure most of you have also heard of the Dewey 24 hour read-a-thon. Sadly, I am never able to participate because I work Saturdays, and that was no exception this year. But by crazy chance and miracle (or because I follow her blog) I stumbled upon Bookish's blog post about her experience participating in Dewey and her tips of participating in a read-a-thon. This was a sign. I realized that I should just make my own read-a-thon since I ironically just so happen to have this Saturday off work.

I have to work this coming Friday night and Sunday, but I have ALL day Saturday to read. The only thing I have planned for this weekend is being home for when my couch is delivered, that is it. Even my husband has work and will be gone a good chunk of the day. That means almost NO DISTRACTIONS all day. Could I have a more perfect opportunity to do my very own read-a-thon? I don't think so. (Days off are rare as I'm sure most of you know.) If you want to read all day Saturday with me you are more than welcome to join in on the fun. OR if you are busy you can pick your very own read-a-thon day sometime in the near future and read your heart out when it works best for you.

What I am Reading

My Back-Up Option

If you want to read all day with me on Saturday then please leave me a comment so when I take a quick break I can check in with you! If you can't join me this weekend, that is totally understandable since this is last minute and not really an official thing at all. I just hope you find some time to have your very own personal read-a-thon! Or maybe you don't like participating in read-a-thons because of the pressure or for another reason. I would love to hear your thoughts on this week's topic below! Happy reading! :D
