ARTICLES

I'm not the only one that judges a book by its cover. This article discusses the importance of a good book cover and how indie book covers are getting better and better. I'll admit that if a cover doesn't look professional or well made I'll pass that book on by.

Are you a Bridget Jones fan? If so, then you may want to read this to see what the next book in the franchise will be titled. There is even an excerpt from the new book. I enjoyed the books and were good for a few laught, but they weren't great. What about you?

Do you ever buy an ebook almost solely because it is only 99 cents or some other great deal? I don't normally do this unless the book looks really promising, but I mean it is only a dollar so if I don't like it I didn't lose much. If you think this is an interesting topic you should read One-Day Deals Making E-Books Bestsellers.

A 5-year-old girl read 875 books during the school year. I give this girl one big round of applause. I love seeing young kids that really love to read. Read the article about her and see how cool this is!

BLOG POST

Patti has a post up this week over at Parajunkee about Barnes and Noble and how they should really have better pricing because online deals are so much better than what they offer in the store. This is a nice well written and thoughtful post that I agree with.

This cover is amazing!

And for a good laugh...

  1. I remember enjoying the Briget Jones books, but it's been so long -- I can't believe there is another one coming out!

And the article about the 5 year old is just awesome -- I hope she keeps reading as she gets older.

And YES to the thing about the stickers! Sometimes I buy cheap books from my library's book sale and it looks like those stickers should come off easy, but they just don't!

    1. I hope she keeps reading too. It was so inspiring to see how much she read and she is only 5!

Those stickers drive me crazy! I hate to hurt the precious books when trying to get them off.

  2. It's usually the font of indie covers that turn me off :/

That's a lot of book. I'm sure they were mostly picture books but still. That library is stocked.

I still haven't read The Mark of Athena... for shame. I don't know about the cover. Is that supposed to be Nico!!??? Assuming he didn't die in the last book that I haven't read yet!!! The cover is alright. I think up close it will be more beautiful. I really want Riordan to do Norse Gods already! 2015 is so far from now...

I hate when that happens with stickers all over my covers especially when I try to take them off and then.. >__< rip! My cover is messed up.

    1. Oh yea font is a big one when looking at covers.

That little girl rocks with her mad reading.

You really need to read Mark of Athena! It has one of those endings though that leave you hanging, so at least when you read it it will be closer to when House of Hades comes out!

I get so upset when I can't get a stick off without harming the book.
