I loved having a little bit of wiggle room with this week's topic, but it also made it hard for me to decide which genre to write about. I debated between focusing on magic or swoons, but I decided to go with something completely different, books that take you back in time.
Historical Fiction I have Read and Loved
1. A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinnis
2. A Mad, Wicked Folly by Sharon Biggs Waller
3. These Vicious Masks by Tarun Shanker & Kelly Zekas
4. The Diviners by Libba Bray
5. Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
Historical Fiction I Can't Wait to Read
1. The Hired Girl by Laura Amy Schlitz
2. Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys
3. Out of Darkness by Ashley Hope PĂ©rez
4. Black Dove, White Raven by Elizabeth Wein
5. Flight of Dreams by Ariel Lawhon
Outlander!! :) :)
ReplyDeleteYEASSSS!
DeleteI've been wanting to read more historical fiction lately! I generally prefer it when there's some kind of magical/paranormal element to it. I think The Diviners will be right up my alley. I even own it but just haven't gotten to it yet! I loved A Madness So Discreet as well.
ReplyDeleteBoth are amazing and dark reads! I vote that you give them a try. :D
DeleteHistorical fiction + YA + fantasy is my absolute FAVOURITE combination!! May I suggest Diviners #2 (Lair of Dreams) as well as In the Shadow of Blackbirds by Cat Winters? We should be goodreads pals for sure! Here's My TTT
ReplyDeleteI still can't believe I haven't rad Lair of Dreams yet! I did the audiobook form of The Diviners and loved it!
DeleteI am so excited to find time to read Salt to the Sea! And I need to read Code Name Verity!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to see you loved A Madness So Discreet! And YES! A Mad, Wicked Folly was such a good one!!!
Me too! I think Salt to the Sea is going to be oh so very good.
DeleteA Madness So Discreet was different and dark and wonderful!
