Sheila over at Book Journey is hosting this wonderful "First Book of the Year" party that I have decided to participate in. I participated in this last year and thought it was fun! I never put thought into what my first book of the year would be before last year. Now I'm glad that I do. It takes no effort to sign up so you should probably just go ahead and do that. I also can't wait to see what books everyone else picks! Without further ado...
My First Book of the Year
The Hating Game has been all over the blogs lately and has been impossible to ignore. So what did I do? I snagged myself a copy from the library. I no longer want to be in the dark. I can't wait to read this book! I think it will be the perfect book to start my 2017 reading year with. I am ready for some hate to love romance.
I read my first book a couple of hours ago and surprisingly already have a review ready for it for after Bout of Books. It's Shadowlands by Kate Brian. I think I've only seen your book sparingly on some sites but I don't know what it's about. I like the idea of the hate to love romance for sure. Hope you have a great 2017!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome AND I can't wait to see your review because I have been meaning to read that book for a while.
DeleteI don't really put much thought into it ahead of time, but there is something exciting about pulling one off the shelf to start the year fresh - enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI never did before, but I kind of like doing it now. :D
DeleteI hope you adore The Hating Game! Like Christine, I don't really put much thought ahead of time. I am horrible at sticking to TBRs so I just go with the flow. It looks like the first book I'll be reading this year is The Valiant! I got an arc of it and I'm about 60% of the way through. Maybe I'll finish it tonight, but probably tomorrow. Happy New Year! :)
ReplyDeleteI certainly did adore The Hating Game! I am so glad I read it. I hope to read The Valiant! I can't wait to see what you think. Happy New Year!
DeleteYAY! I'm so glad this is your first book of the year :) I loved this book so much. I'm starting with THE SECRET OF A HEART NOTE.
ReplyDeleteIt was SOOO CUTE! I liked it a lot Lauren. The Secret of a Heart Note sounds really good.
DeleteI want to read this book SO bad, but there's a huge wait list at my library! Hopefully it will be my turn soon!
