Waiting on Wednesday #2: Monument 14: Sky On Fire by: Emmy Laybourne

"Waiting On Wednesday" is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Monument 14: Sky on Fire by: Emmy Laybourne

Release Date: May 28

Goodreads Summary: In this sequel to MONUMENT 14, the group of survivors, originally trapped together in a superstore by a series of escalating disasters, has split in two. Most of the kids are making a desperate run on their recently repaired school bus for the Denver airport where they hope to reunite with their parents, be evacuated to safety, and save their dying friend.

But the world outside is dark and filled with dangerous chemicals that turn people into bloodthirsty monsters, and not all the kids were willing to get on the bus. Left behind in a sanctuary that has already been disturbed once, the remaining kids try to rebuild the community they lost. But when the issues are life and death, love and hate, who can you really trust?

I read the first book Monument 14 and the cliffhanger ending has me anxiously waiting for the sequel. Side note: I love the cover!

What books are you waiting for?

  3. Interesting pick! Sounds good. I followed back under the name KathyAnn, the pick with the koala. I love koala's. They rock. and sleep for like 18 hours a day. I think we're related.

    Happy reading!

  9. The cover looks amazing!! I'm not a huge fan of the zombie \ apocalypse genre; the plot I find is very predictable and I soon lose interest.

Glad you liked Catching the Fever review. Likewise I'm not a Belieber but it was a surprisingly enjoyable read. Something light and easy, probably for a beach holiday. Sometimes you need a bit of Chick Lit in your life!

Cheers for all your comments on my blog; apologies if I can't respond to each one. You're one of my regular followers - I appreciate your support.

    1. I wasn't sure about reading this series at first because there were younger kids in it and I prefer high schoolers, but it didn't bother me at all, it actually enhanced the book.
