Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly event hosted over at The Broke and the Bookish.
1. Keep to a schedule/plan ahead with blog posts.
2. Take a break if needed and don't feel guilty about doing so.
3. Actually finish my TBR pile challenge and series challenge this year. Not to mention complete my goodreads challenge... so basically just read all the books!
4. Discover some new blogs and hopefully make some new close blogger friends.
5. Write more discussion posts and stick with my Book Recommendation feature.
6. Write reviews shortly after I finish a book, sooner rather than later.
7. Start and finish editing the novel I wrote last year for NaNoWriMo.
8. Write at least one new novel this year.
9. Do something different with the layout of the blog. I'm not sure what yet, but I feel it coming.
10. Make it to at least one author signing/bookish event.
I plan ahead all the time :P This year I got even better at it. I taped a calendar to my desk. I've been meaning to do that forever :P LOL :D Hopefully you'll achieve that goal ;)
ReplyDeleteI am going to finish my NaNoWriMo novel for NaNoWriMo this year. I don't think I'll be winning it this time around though since I think I could wrap it up in less than 30,000 words. :P ahh look at us writers :P I need to do serious editing though.
Have a great week Kay! :D

ReplyDeleteGood luck with all your goals! Hope they go well! I saw this come up on my bloglovin' feed and I love doing these features. Great list.

Excellent list. I have a couple of similar goals. Taking a break if I need to is a big one for me, as well. Real life comes first, and I won't let myself feel guilty if I need some time off!

I feel like taking a break and not feeling guilty about it is very important. We don't want to get burnt out!
DeleteLooks like you have some great goals for 2014. I'm totally with you on #6. I'm way behind right now and it's IMPOSSIBLE to catch up. Good luck to you on all your resolutions!
ReplyDeleteI have like 7 books I have read I need to review. :(
DeleteI love your list! A lot of these I want to do as well -- such as scheduling posts in advance, accomplish my TBR challenge and Goodreads challenge, make new blogging buddies (hi!), and start writing my novel that has been in the works for two years now. Good luck and I look forward to reading more of your blog this year :)
ReplyDeleteHello! *Waves Good luck with writing your novel! I know you can do it. I never though I could and then I just sat down, decided to participate in NaNoWriMo and I wrote it. Good luck!
DeleteAh, doesn't planning ahead with a blog schedule feel the BEST? Just seeing the little 'schedules'? Yes. Feels so awesome. And yeah, #2 is important. I took about a two month break and didn't feel guilty about it at all; blogging was becoming overwhelming, and I wasn't going to let a hobby stress me out.
ReplyDeleteIt feels so good to plan ahead. I have noticed that I get stressed if I don't. And good for you to take a break, you really don't want to get overwhelmed by a hobby! Thanks for stopping by Blythe!
Delete"Write at least one new novel this year"- whoa! Ambitious! I've been tackling the same one for multiple years now!
ReplyDeleteIt is a little ambitious, we shall see. lol
DeleteI really like your list of goals. I started keeping a blog calendar and it's made my life so much easier. And, fwiw, I really like the polka dots in your blog's current design :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! I think I will be keeping the polka dots. :) The blog calendar is a great idea!
DeleteLove #2 & #6 and I'm looking forward to seeing what you dream up for a blog design!
ReplyDeleteI am striving to work as hard as I can to write posts ahead of schedule when I can--makes it easier to plan. :) I had to take a couple breaks this past year--don't feel guilty. I know for me it was healthy and needed. I just did a redesign of my blog--so happy I did it. I still have some tweaks and features to add, but I am glad I did it. My List Happy Reading!
ReplyDeleteNumber 2 can be so important. Good luck with your goals!
ReplyDeleteNumber six is a big one for me. ALL THE TIME I put off writing reviews and then when I go to get it done I've already started forgetting things about the book. It's super frustrating.
ReplyDeleteI also want to write a novel. I totally bombed NaNoWriMo in 2013, but I want to write a novel outside of that. I hope you're able to write one too! And I hope you're able to achieve all your goals :D
I really need to stop putting off writing reviews. I have like 7 right now I need to write. :/
DeleteGood luck with your novel! You can do it. :)
Great list! I've thought about doing some TBR challenges but my reading tastes seem so fickle lately. Good luck on the writing and editing, that's awesome you did NaNoWriMo =)
ReplyDeleteSeriously love #2. I should do this myself. And I love your Book Recommendation feature so I can't wait to see more of that (in addition to discussion posts!). I can relate to #6... Such great goals Kay! Good luck with all of these!!
