April Book Prescriptions: Fans of the Private/Boarding School Setting

Book Recommendation Friday is back with a new name and a new look! I plan on posting this feature on the first Friday of every month.

Each month I will come up with at least five different and unique reading suggestions for each post. I only recommend books I have already read unless noted.

The Books I suggest aren't always necessarily the same genre/plot so much as they have the same feel... and are great reads of course.

Click on the book title to found out more about each one. Enjoy!

If you like Private/Boarding School Settings then you should try...

* I have not yet read these two books but I have heard good things about them. Have you read them? What did you think?

Please share your book recommendations below and any other ways you think I could make this feature even better! If you have a specific book you want me to highlight in the upcoming months please feel free to share them with me. For other reading suggestions that I have completed in the past check out my If you liked...Then read... page.

  1. I haven't read any of these yet, but I love this feature! Not like I need piles of book recommendations, but I definitely like them :)

    1. I agree. I haven't read it in so long, I'm thinking of a reread soon.

  3. Wow so I've only read Hex Hall on this list so I went to peek through books I've read for other boarding school reads and nothing popped out! I could have missed something but more likely its that I really don't read much in this genre and that is not intentional! Well... On the Jellicoe Road probably counts, I just finished that! I also might read What We Hide soon which is boarding school related! What would you recommend the most on this list, you think?

    1. I realized too when making this list that I don't read as many as I thought I did, and I kind of want to change that. It's hard to pick just one, but for a fun read that is all about girl power then I would choose The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks. It's a lot of fun and I think you would like it. :)

  4. Thanks for posting this. I love books that feature boarding schools. I have a whole shelf on GR dedicated to books that have boarding schools. A few others are Dead Poets Society and Looking for Alaska.
