It's a Book Life's First Ever Book Choice Awards - Best of 2014

There are a whole bunch of end of the year surveys and top ten lists going around that focuses on everyone's favorite reads of 2014. I decided to kind of do a combo of all of those and just like The Book Shimmy Awards and the Goodreads Choice Awards I kind of made my own awards... except the only person that voted on these books was me. 1. Oooh, lots of great books you've read this year Kay! I loved Kiss of Deception, Shadow and Bone, and Fire and Flood as well. I see many that I want to read as too. Can't wait to see what's in store for 2015 :)

  2. I agree 100% with your end of series choice :) Love Guards of the Shadowlands! I thought Fine did a wonderful job wrapping up the series even though I never wanted it to end.

    1. More people need to read that series! It is beautifully written and I love the romance. It is sad it ended though. :(

  3. So many books I haven't read! I love your categories especially Best Cover Typography because the way the title and author is written on a cover can really sway me to get it or not. I'm glad Rebel Belle is on here since I'm planning to read it very soon. Are you planning on continuing on with the series?
Fangirl for me was probably one of the most surprisingly deep books I read this year.

    1. Typography is such a big part in book covers grabbing my attention! Rebel Belle was weird, but a lot of fun! I hope you like it. I will be reading the second book.

  5. Oh! What a lovely collection!!! I just finished The Kiss of Deception, it was pretty good. Whose team are you on? I'm still unsure if I want the Prince or the Assassin. I also enjoyed Heir of Fire, but Crown of Midnight still takes the trophy HAHA

  7. AHH I LOVE THIS KAY! And I love all of your choices (well the 95% ish that I read!) Although, I have to say that I hate that cover redesign of Fire & Flood. it looks like a zombie book or something.

    1. I had so much fun making this post. :) OMG - I 100% agree about the Fire and Flood cover and now they are doing the sequel like that too. :(

  8. I started the audio book for Shadow and Bone and just could not get into it. I think I will have to give the actual book a try later when I am more in the mood for it. I still really need to read The Kiss of Deception and Throne of Glass. Nicole just loves the series but I am nervous to start it, worried about too much hype. I love Rainbow Rowell!

    1. I need to read Landline! I enjoyed Attachments by her and loved Fangirl!

You should definitely try Throne of Glass and The Kiss of Deception. If you are in the mood for more of a romance I would do Kiss of Deception and next time you are in the mood for more fantasy I would choose Throne of Glass. I can't wait to see what you think of them, but I totally understanding how it can be daunting to read a book that has so much hype.

  9. Those were awesome award categories. I was planning on doing something similar without the runner ups tho cause I'm lazy lol. Some very excellent looking choices you have there!

    1. It was fun to pick and choose my favorites. You should definitely do this! Honestly, I only added the runner-ups categories because it was so hard to pick just one book for each. lol
