The Cousins O'Dwyer Trilogy: Dark Witch (#1), Shadow Spell (#2), and Blood Magick (#3) by: Nora Roberts
My Very Short Summary: Three family related witches Iona, Branna, and Connor, finally come together in Ireland to take on the man full of dark magic who has been haunting their family through the centuries.
This Nora Roberts trilogy may have a pretty similar pattern to all of her other witch/supernatural/fantasy books, but I enjoyed it all the same.
Each witch, Ion, Branna, and Connor have their own novel from their view point and the view point of their romantic love interest. I liked each character and each minor character. I loved the family togetherness and the camaraderie. Sometimes the characters could be a little over dramatic, but that was my only issue with them. I also immensely enjoyed the beautiful setting in Ireland.
The readers also get a glimpse into the life of the original dark witch that had the power that was passed down through the generations to the main characters. I really liked getting this family history.
This trilogy is full of love, friendship, family, some darkness, and some laughter. Did I mention there are also animals? There are and animals in books are always a plus.
Despite the fact that this trilogy isn't overly unique, I still liked it a great deal. I don't think Nora Roberts fans will be disappointed by The Cousins O'Dwyer trilogy. I am sure I will continue to read other Nora Roberts novels when the mood strikes.
