Library Loot is a weekly event co-hosted by Claire fromThe Captive Readerand Linda fromSilly Little Mischiefthat encourages bloggers to share the books they’ve checked out from the library.
** I'm pretty proud of my loot this week. Not to mention that I have actually been reading my library loot lately instead of just having it sit on my shelf and then returning it. Click on the cover of a book to find out more about it.
My Library Loot
1. One of those books I keep saying I'll read but haven't yet.
2. It's supposed to be "X-Men meets Ocean's Eleven."
3. I love this author's other series.
4. Since all of three of the books are out now I figured it's a good time to give them a try.
5. This one just sounds so different.
6. I have been meaning to read this since it came out last year.
7. This non-fiction book has received a lot of positive reviews.
OF METAL AND WISHES. and omg SHADOW AND BONE. Wait until Siege and Storm - you are going to meet Nikolai and he is my number one book boyfriend ever and I AM JUST SO EXCITED FOR YOU TO MEET HIM HE IS SERIOUSLY THE BEST (just remember he's mine) ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd why do I feel like everyone and their mother is reading Looking for Alaska lately. Hmph. Did I miss the memo on something? This book has been out for a while right? But its John Green so understandable.
You make me want to read Shadow and Bone even more!!!!!! I must meet this Nikolai.
DeleteIt's been out for quite some time. I just had someone at work tell me to read it so I figured I would give it a shot.
Looks like a great collection. Enjoy your loot!
ReplyDeleteI plan too. :)
DeleteShadow and Bone sounds like the beginning of a series I need to read soon.
ReplyDeleteI just stopped by to tell you I nominated you for The Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award.
Thanks Tracy!
DeleteI bought Looking for Alaska recently but haven't read it. I keep wanting to start the Shadow and Bone series but still haven't. Sigh. Too many books. Enjoy your loot!
ReplyDeleteI kept meaning to start Shadow and Bone and now that all the books are out I figured it is a good time to do so. :) I hope you enjoy Looking for Alaska. Maybe we can compare notes. I heard it is good.
DeleteI read 'Five Days at Memorial,' and it's not an easy book to read. A lot of people - especially vulnerable people such as the elderly and physically disabled - suffered horribly through Hurricane Katrina. It's a harrowing read, and sadly nonfictional.
ReplyDeleteI figured it would be a difficult book to read. :( I also heard its good though in the sense of shinning more light on what the people really went through.
DeleteI read Looking For Alaska and came out hoping my boys would never find anyone like her. But it's a powerful book. Shadow and Bone also looks interesting, and I think I'd like to read Five Days at Memorial.
ReplyDeleteIf you like Life after Life, maybe try Jo Walton's My Real Children, because I want someone to compare those for me :-)
I am eager to see what I think of Looking for Alaska. I'm even more intrigued now about this girl. If I like Life after Life I will look into that book. :)
DeleteGreat haul! I love that you give your reasons for why you picked the books up :)
ReplyDeleteFive Days at Memorial is on my list of books to read. Last time I read a nonfiction book about Hurricane Katrina, I was upset for days, so I'll just have to have a calming book to read after reading Fink's book.
ReplyDeleteI will have to be in the right mindset. I'm sure it is going to be a hard one to read.
DeleteFabulous list! Got a few good recommendations, thanks!
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome!
